Statement on Social Justice in Today’s Society
Like so many citizens across the country, we at The LeaderShop are saddened and disturbed by the current state of our nation. Systemic and blatant racism continues to cause pain and turmoil in our communities.
We share the grief of so many families, friends, and citizens over the tragic losses of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, and countless other precious lives that have been lost because of senseless prejudice and violence. We stand with our youth, families, volunteers, supporters, and community members who abhor this kind of behavior and long for positive change in our society.
We support the rights of citizens to engage in peaceful protests because black and brown lives count.
As The LeaderShop continues its mission to serve the youth in our community, we will keep working to empower and equip them to be a powerful, positive voice for change and unity. We encourage caregivers to listen to youth and provide them with a safe space for dialoguing, sharing, and expressing their feelings about acts of racism and violence. We stand in solidarity with those who suffer from violence and oppression as we strive to sustain and share our values of integrity, respect, compassion, and diversity.
