Programs Supported by The LeaderShop
The LeaderShop is proud to partner with Pillars and Kiwanis Club of La Grange in supporting these valuable programs for local youth:
Family and School Together (FAST) at Heritage Middle School (Berwyn)
Families and Schools Together (FAST) is a multi-family group intervention designed to build protective factors for children and empower parents to be the primary prevention agents for their own children. FAST is an award-winning model program for the prevention of substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, school failure, child abuse and neglect, and mental health problems. FAST is a program through Pillars, which The LeaderShop supports. A staff member from The LeaderShop has the role of “Adult Youth Advocate” where they work directly with 6th – 8th grade students. The FAST Program that The LeaderShop is involved in meets at Heritage Middle School during the first semester on Mondays from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.
K-Kids at Brook Park Elementary School (La Grange Park)
K-Kids Club, developed by and modeled after Kiwanis International, is a service club for students in elementary school. This K-Kids club is sponsored by The Kiwanis Club of La Grange and serving the youth at Brook Park Elementary School in La Grange Park. Each session, a staff member of The LeaderShop implements team-building and leadership development activities for the students. Builders Club at S.E. Gross Middle School (Summit)
Builders Club is a student-led service organization for middle school students sponsored by Kiwanis International. Students serve their schools and community by working with their peers and implementing self-planned community projects. The local Builders Club is sponsored by The Kiwanis Club of La Grange and serves the youth at S.E. Gross Middle School in Brookfield. Each session, a staff member of The LeaderShop helps the students with their projects and implements leadership development activities.
